Sunrace CSMZ800 packaging
Does anybody know in what kind of packaging should Sunrace come? This time it was only in a plastic bag with typical white Chinese stickers Amazon. Last time 8 speed 12-40t sunrace cassette was in a box. Nobody mentioned in rewievs about it being counterfeit.

I've received Shimano cassettes packaged in both bags and boxes. Just depends on how the seller came by it, retail or OEM. I wouldn't be concerned unless you paid $2.99 for it on Ali.

Also, I wouldn't sweat for the same reason I don't worry about counterfeit one dollar bills.
The reason that counterfeiters prefer twenties is that smaller bills aren't worth the effort. Same logic here, if one were counterfeiting bike parts it would be those with high brand value, like mid to upper end Shimano.

just be glad that it showed up.
if someone was going to go through the hassle to countefit a cassette, they'd stamp dura-ace or campagnolo on it.... and they'd still lose money on the venture.

Chains are relatively easy to produce, with things that cost more, like alloy selection & heat treating being entirely invisible. So the premium a top chain commands makes upselling a cheap chain worth the effort.
The same would apply to cassettes. Given the costs, both visible and invisible, a counterfeiter would go after Shimano rather than Sun Race.
Doesn't mean they wouldn't, just that it's less likely that they would.

Upon receiving it the first thing which caught attention was matte surface, not smooth (only 51t granny gear is smooth) and oil with added scent boosters.

Could have bought from a proper shop but since there was a need to commute to work very soon then decided to buy it on Amazon.
Was trying to buy from a reputable shops recently but there was a lot of hassle with some of them.

you bought a part that is intended for the OEM market, not a "consumer" part.
which is why it was lower priced
as somebody said above, a distinction not worth worrying about

It was the same price as from normal shops. Later found some obscure shops with even cheaper price.

I bought some Sunrace freewheels this summer and they came in a fitted box, with the freewheels in a like fitted plastic sealed bag inside. As MarkP mentioned, what the OP got was an OEM product, regardless of what is sold for. On Amazon especially you see some really silly price fishing going on by third party vendors. I rarely buy anything from AMZ that either isn't Prime or fulfilled by AMZ. With third party sellers Amazon won't help you if you get hosed. Third party sellers set their own prices.

Not saying you but a lot of commuters are so helpless it is crazy, they have a single bike they ride into the ground and don't maintain and then freak out when they are without it and have no sense of doing anything else to get to work even for a day or a couple days and don't have spare parts or back ups so they can get rolling quickly because they need it so crucially. It is just an odd way to live, if the bike is your way to get around (and not you specifically OP) then you really should have back ups and plans and ways to handle things if something happens. I know I do but I have been using multi modal transportation for many years maybe some people just don't realize or something? Again not speaking about you specifically unless you fall into that category which I hope not.

It's a TopBike shop from Amazon registered in Taiwan. Could have bought one sold by Amazon directly but decided to go for this one since the color looked more similar to original in the picture.
Upon receiving it the first thing which caught attention was matte surface, not smooth (only 51t granny gear is smooth) and oil with added scent boosters.

If you were commuting to work on that bike you would likely have a second bike but also keep your bike well maintained if you rely upon it and would have probably gotten this solved a while ago or at least had brought it to the shop to get it looked at and so they could order parts and you could potentially go ride it until parts come and then bring it in when they come and ride your back up bike or use one of the 30+ ways to get around not via bike.

I have one non-electric beater bike for short errands around the town and for training. Second bike is more comfortable electric conversion for 100 mile round trip with 17% hills to keep the commuting time more consistent. Keeping another backup ebike with the same level of component selection would be too expensive, although there is there is a second lower powered motor waiting to be used on medium length commutes.
