Microshift acolyte 8v and chainring ???

Hello. I'm interested by the acolyte 8v groupset for an upgrade on an old mtb look gravity wich was originally fitted with a 3 x 7 alivio groupset.
But i' d like to know if i can use a deore 10v narrow wide cranckset with the chain or if it would be better to convert an old crankset with a narrow wide chainring ? Which ?

Thank you.

1 x 8 gears? if so, the Narrow/Wide Chainring will work fine.. the internal width of the Chains is the same, 3/32", 2.38mm.

run the chain that microshift recommends.

Hello,

Yes, I am talking about a 1 x 8 conversion. Considering the price of the chainring, i am wondering if it's worth to buy directly a deore 1 x 10 crankset.

Thank you !
