What are these brake caliper thingies?

So I got these little leather things off of a set of vintage brake calipers, likely Campagnolo as I remember. What are these for? Thank you.

If they're made of a pressed fiber, sort of like paper or felt, they're packing to keep the adjusters in place in the display box, or while shipping.
They become trash once the cable is attached.

And like the plastic protective layer that often is still on a head badge these tabs are often not removed during the bike's assembly. Andy

If you can sell empty campagnolo boxes, I imagine you can sell those.
