Seeing as a torx bit will fit in a torx plus fastener, I don’t think I’d notice if plus appeared on bikes.

Whether they are a thing or not, if you have to work on something that has them, then you will need them if they are used for high torque applications. You might get by with a regular torx in a torx plus bolt if it's not torqued as high as some things require. I've gotten by with allen keys in lower torqued Torx sockets. Maybe some where Torx plus too. But I only try to use the allen key if I don't have the proper bit readily available.

Bosch has used TorxPlus for quite a while not just on smart system but on previous gen stuff as well. A T40 can work but it is best to use the Plus wrench to ensure you don't strip a bolt accidentally.

Ha ha, hard to know. Is it AI?? Looks like a typical page from the old days by someone who has a stake in the business and is a human. Are all of our forum members real?? The explanation is pretty simple, not much to fecker up even if it is AI.

I hadn’t heard of these yet. It seems like it is over-solving a problem and, in the process, creating problems with the prior adequate solution.
I think I would put universal adoption on my calendar somewhere behind commercial viable fusion power.

The reason this came up in my life is I just saw them when I was shopping for some additional sizes of e-torx sockets to change a car water pump.
Apparently, T-25 is around the limit of using your regular Torx bits on Torx Plus. Any bigger than that, and you risk cam out.
I can't find any advantage in the design of regular Torx. Torx Plus is apparently just superior - and superior enough for many to make the switch.
Get your Torx Plus now, before E-Torx-Plus catches on and you need those too!

And Torx Plus isn't new. It was introduced and used in the previous century. Where have you been?
