It takes a 5mm hex and is 5cm long I don’t want to bother my local bike shop with such a piddley little item are typical bike bolts something that a local hardware store would have |
EBAY has these in different colors. Got one from them, dont remember the price though

Your local bike shop should not be bothered by helping you with this. You can always throw them a tip if you feel bad. There are too many possibilities to blindly point you in the right direction.

If you do not have the actual bolt anymore, not even a hardware store would know where to begin. If you don't want to bug your LBS, this is precisely the kind of assignment a Bike Co-op is set up to accomplish. You bring in your seatpost and test fit a few bolts until you find one that works. While you wait, on the house. Don't be shocked if the actual solution involves a new seatpost. Nominal charge. What are you waiting for?
