bridgestone question

i recently picked up a late 80's bridgestone 400 for 30$! It originally came with bar-end shifters. the shift housing feeds into housing stops on the upper end of the downtube that are bolted to braze-on frame mounts. I 've removed the housing stops. I wondering if i can attatch downtube shifters to these mounts? the braze-on mounts extent out 1/2" on each side, have threaded inner diameters and are slotted on the ends. Does this sound like a standard mount for D/T shifters? Thanks!
