I just took fork apart this evening to reveal a broke spring in my Fox FLOAT fork...Would anyone know if the bottom threaded piece is threaded on to rod or is it a press fit?
or should i press out retainer pins & remove from topside?
Thanks for any info....

Thanks much for reply & the URL
. I just drifted out spring pins from bushing & seal of the air shaft, now i need to find springs.
Amazing what one can do with a sledgehammer & screwdriver.......

It truly is. I've saved so much money on specialized tools by using various combinations of hammers, screwdrivers, and pliers to fix my bike.

yeah i got tons of various tools(mainly machinist type) & quite a few of "bike specific" tools (which can save ALOT of dough from shop service)i've collected through the years ,but the problem sometimes is the PART...lol i had to order the hole shaft assembly when i only need one spring...
I went ahead & did it anyways even though i have a new fork on the way....
too bad cause that rod has split pins holding the spacer & seal on, i popped them out & for what, just to put them back in................ why just sell a $4.00 spring when they can unload a $35.00 assembly..
Oh well, bussiness as usual i guess
Thanks for the website info dude. The Angry Asian seems to be highly informed & educated on forks...
