OK, last post on the new bike I swear..but the chain kind of skips when I ride. Every so often it'll feel like I'm just not pushing the bike anymore because there'll be no resistance. Any ideas? I'll probably take it into the LBS for a once-over sometime but I would like to see if I can solve it myself.
Thanks

Yep, it sounds like the rear derailleur has gone out of adjustment. A cable tension adjustment should fix it but I can't tell in which direction from here. Try both and see which way makes it worse then do the opposite.
