Which type are you supposed to use for removing a powder coat? The Premium kind, or one of the others? And someone mentioned to me that you can only brush it on in one direction; could someone verify that and explain to me why that would be?

I have no idea what NSF and PC are acronyms for. Basically, I'm going to raw my forks and bars temporarily, because they're hideous after some drunken painting last night, and then I'm going to actually do something interesting and artsy.

If it were me I'd leave it on and paint over it, powderdoat really is a good primer, maybe just scuff it up a bit.

What I had done before was to paint the left fork leg a sandy earthtone, and the right leg an Indian red (oh, excuse me, "Burnt Sienna"), with the dropouts and upper-eighth of the fork being the opposing color. It turned out hideous.

I'm removing the powdercoat entirely because whatever I do will end up being translucent, so I want it to be raw underneath.

You know, you would have gotten much more serious and useful responses if you had given that kind of detail in your first posting instead of the cryptic nonsense that it seemed to be. On rereading it I assume Jasco is a brand of paint remover but not everyone knows that.

If you look around you can probably find a powdercoater who'll do that pretty cheaply, and he'll blast it.

1) I know Dooley from another board, and I knew exactly what he was referring to when he clarified himself.
2) Jasco seems to be the most popular paint remover out there.
3) Yeah, I might as well. With the way the weather's going, it's not like I'll be able to ride, anyway.

This just in: powdercoating is incredibly expensive. $150 for a frame, fork, and bars? What the hell?
