Another 27" wheel question.

Can you use 700c wheels with a frame made for 27" wheels if you use long reach brakes?
Thanks,

Blake

If the existing brakes are OK, try it with them first. You may have enough vertical pad adjustment since you only need about 4 mm.

You'll actually need 6mm reach; and it depends on the brake calipers. It might be a place to use older, long centerpull calipers upgraded with modern pads and cables.

???
700C = 622mm rim diameter
27" = 630mm rim diameter
(630-622)/2 = 4mm difference in rim radius

Since lengthening the brake reach will reduce the braking leverage, I agree that KoolStop pads are a must!
