Dependable Bottom Bracket
To anyone that can help,
I am looking for a reliable ISIS bottom bracket. I am a distance rider and need something that will hold up to the miles and the elements. In the past I had always used Shimano equip however my new bike came with a carbon compact crank that I like very much however somehow I managed to shear the bottom bracket in half at about 3500 miles which I found odd especially since I only weigh 150. I average about 300 miles a week depending on what I am training for at the time. Any advice would be appreciated. Stranded in the middle of nowhere with a broken BB is not fun.

To brake a BB in 11 weeks seems a bit quick and out of the ordinary. Have you checked to see if they will warantee it?

It's covered
It's covered, however I don't not want to replace it with the same model. Titanium bottom brackets should not just snap with no warning in my opinion. The BB is either of bad design or the company that makes it has very bad quality control. I don't care if I have to pay for the reliability. If by chance I was in a paceline when that thing let go I think that both myself and maybe others would have ended up laying in the road.

Ti is very strong, but when you use it you accept that any failures are going to be catastophic and without warning. Tons of people are using the model you have, if there was an epidemic problem with these things you'd see wrecked pacelines stacked up like cordwood. I'd take the warranty replacement and call it a day.
