Bad chain tension

Hey guys,
Today, the chain tension on my recumbent got really wacky out of nowhere. When I pedal the chain doesn't stay tight, but just droops down. Once I've stopped putting forward motion on the pedals the chain slowly tenses back up again.
Any Ideas?

Sounds like a rear derailleur spring issue. I'm told the springs can be replaced on some brands. Otherwise, might be time for a whole new derailleur.
