stem options?

Hey,

I recently purcahsed a set of bullhorn bars for my KHS Flite 100 fixed gear. I got a good deal on them online, but didn't think of one thing...

My steer tube is 1" and the bars are 31.8mm. I'm having a hard time finding a stem that would fit those dimensions.

I know that they make reducing shims, but I don't know if they are good or not. Any ideas?

Also, any idea if anyone makes a 1" to 31.8mm stem?

Any help is appreciated.

-Erik

The shims for 1" steerers work fine. Just make sure the steerer and shim are degreased so nothing slips around and torque it all to spec.

I don't think a shim is going to help in this situation.

Not a shim for the bars. A shim for the fork steer tube so that you can use a 1-1/8" stem on a 1" fork. I have one on my bike and it works fine. I have never seen a 1" oversize (31.8) stem.

thanks guys. I'm picking one up today from my LBS.

Just wanted to make sure that it was a good solution. Luckily they're only a couple of bucks.
