gears seem to be skipping

ive done the old cable tension and my gears seem to still skip
everyone of my gears are perfect except from when i change from 7 to 6. it skips to 5.
can anyone give a easy to follow guide as to how to fix it?

It's possible that your derailleur hanger is bent, that can easily cause bad shifting. That could either be bent back into place or replaced if it is removable.
Otherwise maybe fit a whole new gear cable (most cables come with instructions on fitting, or see the park tool website)?
Also, is the cassette and chain in a good condition?
