i just got a new schwinn homegrown bike and sometimes when i go over small bumps, the shock will click (sounds like its topping out)..

Are you sure it's the shock? Also what kind of shock does it have? My bike make a clicking sound on small bumps like you describe and I swore it was the headset. Turned out to be the seatpost! I noticed when I stood up it quit. DG

Try checking www.angryasian.com, he's got a great site on shocks. Sounds like a minor adjustment to keep the fork from rebounding too fast, but it's to late for me to remember what would need adjusting.
