Bontrager Wheel re build.
I'm sitting here with a Bontrager paired spoke rear hub, I'm wondering if it's a difficult task to get a rim and build it up?
I see some info on Bontrager's web page regarding a stress box being required.
Has anyone done it without?
Thanks,
Scoob

Making a kilometer blurry
Stress box is just one of many ways of stressing the wheel. If you've built some wheels before, you could stretch your knowledge to this wheel's lacing pattern, but it's going to be extra-sensitive to tension disparity.
Use brass nipples!
Personally, I'd forget about it since I think it's a silly design anyway. No tangible benefit to paired spoking, but a lot of drawbacks.

I rebuilt a Bontrager Select front wheel. I've built wheels in the past and this one wasn't anymore difficult and has been through a couple thousand training miles without a problem. If I remember I got the stock rim from a Trek dealer for about $50.
