the sun never sets on me
can you guys name maybe the top 5 or less oil/lubes/cleaners that i'll need to buy to pretty much both, clean my entire bike, and lube/oil all the parts.
in addition, could you guys tell me how to use the oil/lube/cleaners?
thanks alot,

Oil, any type of oil, I use motor oil. Use it sparingly. On the chain, use it sparingly and often, about every other time you ride, and wipe the chain clean with a rag before you oil.Originally Posted by alumrock12

Grease, any grease. I use CV joint grease because its cheap and it comes in a tube which is very convenient.
Cleaner-citrus cleaner and soap and water.
"Purgatory Central"
This is what I use;
Chain cleaning - mineral spirits followed up with 'Pro Link' chain oil.
Frame paint - 'Meguiars' auto wax, or 'Lemon Pledge' between waxings
Tires - 'Armour-all'
Aluminum parts - (derailleurs, hubs) use just a good auto wax on these parts because they're anodised clear. Bare aluminum is a different story.
Bearings - 'Phil Wood' waterproof grease. (in a tube at your LBS)
