identify this part/tool

I recieved a box of bike parts, and at the bottom was this weird little thing. It is about 4 inches long, has a hole running the length of it, and has a threaded end. Heres a link to pics. any ideas what it is?

Looks like an extension tube for an air blow gun.

So it's hollow? It looks a little bit like a pedal axle that got broken off or something. What are the thread dimensions of the threaded end? Is it right- or left-threaded? That should help quickly narrow down the possibilities

Is this a game? Hmm, guess. The thing that puts air in backyard pool?

It may linkage thing to connect old style 3 speed bikes brakes to the brake lever. There are 3 speed bikes that uses linkages instead of cables. I seem to recall seeing something like that. But if I was to narrow it down, my guess is that it has to do with some type of cabling that goes internally. So my choices would be geartrain or brakes.

Yeah it's hollow. It's too skinny and long to be a pedal axle. It is 4 inches long, and the skinny end is 1/8 inch across. The threaded end is 5/16 inch across.

Is it an extension nozzle for a grease gun or something similar?

Well, 5/16" is too small for a pedal axle certainly and it doesn't look like any other bike part I've ever seen. I'm gonna throw my vote in with those who think it's an air gun extension. 5/16" is a pretty common size for air hose and pump fittings, I believe.

I've never seen an air gun extension like that. Looks more like a car or motorcycle part than a bike part. It looks like hardware for fuel injection or hydrolic brakes.

Bill got it. This is not a bike specific tool. Now go fill a beach ball with it!
