Bikes: '96 Litespeed Catalyst, '05 Litespeed Firenze, '06 Litespeed Tuscany, '20 Surly Midnight Special, All are 3x10. It is hilly around here!
The real problem may be threading, not width. Most 68 mm bottom brackets are English threaded and most 70 mm bottom brackets are Italian threaded. The two thread types are completely incompatible
