Takagi Tourney XT - spindle length?
Hey all,
I'm not sure if the right place to post this was here, or in Classic & Vintage, but here goes. Mods, feel free to move if it's in the wrong spot.
I've acquired and thoroughly cleaned up what seem to be some pretty decent cranks - they go by "Takagi Tourney XT". I can't find the requisite BB spindle length anywhere, though. They're 170mm triples, with a stock Takagi granny ring (steel, I think) and Blackspire middle/outer rings, measuring 48-38-28. I know it's a shot in the dark, but I was wondering if anyone here knows anything about them. I've attached a picture of them.
Short context: I'm replacing some crappy riveted Shimano Tourney FC-TY33's and I'd like to find out as much as possible about these cranks. More info also means more entries to Sheldon's crank database.
Thanks!

Bikes: Catrike 559 I own some others but they don't get ridden very much.

I don't know. If it was my bike I'd do a trial fit with the bottom bracket that I have and go from there.

I'm _fairly_ sure they'll fit a 122mm square-taper BB, but I'm also interested in any other information anyone would have. The most I know for sure right now is that they're Japanese. I'm guessing they're cromoly, too. I'll measure BCD later, if anyone is interested.

Hi,
I have the same crank on my touring bike. The spindle that I have on the bike ( no way to know if it is original) is 133 mm long asymetric (3mm longer on the left side). If the left crank clearance is no problem, a 3T spindle (123 mm, 5 mm longer to the right) would fit. I believe a 3S ( 121.5 with 5 mm longer to the right) would also fit as it would only moves the right crank 1.5 mm closer to the frame. Same with a symmetrical 127 mm.
I'm pretty sure that a symmetrical 122 would not fit . On my bike, there is no way that the right crank can move 4mm closer to the frame.
If you want to go with a cartridge bb, the 127 might be the only option.
As for crank info,
that crank seems to be stock on my 84-86? mikado touring bike. It came originally with 50-46-28 half-step + granny rings which I really did not like. It's now 50-38-24. I have quite a few miles on it and I think it's a pretty nice crank if not especially light.

Thanks, I hoped someone would have a set!
You might be right about the left-crank clearance, but I have a sneaking suspicion it won't be an issue with the specific frame I'd like to put them on - plenty of clearance for the chainstays. I'll report back when they're on. It might be a bit, have to pull some trickery to get the stripped aluminum (grr!) drive side off.
Thanks again!
