Removing Ritchey Sealed Bearing OCR Freewheel Body
Help! I've got a set of Ritchey Aero OCR Pro wheel with sealed bearings. The other day, my freewheel started acting up and I found that it was making a very unpleasant grinding sound. I was able to get the freewheel lubed and cleaned up, but I had to do it without the benefit of being able to remove it from the bike. I popped the bearings out on both sides, but the axel would not clear the inside cup on the freewheel body. It looked to me like I needed a tool to remove the inner cup on the freewheel body to allow the axel to come out and then I would be able to access the hex nut that holds the freewheel in place. Does anyone out there have any experience with this? If I need a specialized tool, where do I get one? I really like this wheelset, but I ride 4000 miles per year and I've got to be able to service the freewheel body.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Removing a Ritchey Freehub
Thanks for the URL:
Here's what they had to say....
"How to remove a Ritchey freehub:
To remove the freehub, you are going to have to remove the cassette, then loosen the set screw spacer nut on the drive side, pop out the axel with a light tap of the mallet, (to the non drive side) then with a 12mm allen, go in from the non drive side and loosen the free hub. Ritchey offers a special 12mm Allen wrench to make re-installation easier. Please consult your dealer."
O.K. I did all this, but when I popped it out with the light tap with a mallet I was able to remove the bearing, but the axel wouldn't come through. It felt like the elongation on the axel that sits behide the bearing on the drive side was too big to fit through the opening at the base of the freewheel body. Am I just being too cautious? Do I just need to give it some more english to get it to come through? I love this wheelset and I don't want to damage anything.
Has anyone out there taken one of these apart? OCR Pro sealed bearing hub.
