What is ratcheting in rear wheel?
I know it's normal to hear that click-click-click sound in the rear wheel when it's spun in the forward direction, and I've noticed on my 3 bikes that they sound different. One bike did it louder than the others, and I didn't think much of it. But yesterday, I took it to the bikeshop to get a whole lot of grit cleaned out of the freewheel, and now it's as quiet as my other 2 bikes. Can hardly hear it now.
The thing is: I've heard rear wheel click more loudly when spun when they're brand new in the shop waiting to be bought. Does that indicate anything is wrong with them?

yep every manufacturer is different.
Kings are some of the loudest, and I have some shimano hubs that are silent.

It is probably quiet because the shop put some oil in the freewheel. It will more than likely get loud again.
