Quick Sanity Check Please...

Hey all,

I've been looking on-line at the Park tools web site and others, to get an understanding of my bike. Now the bike has been mostly sitting for about a decade... I've been riding it the last month or so with out too many problems.

I think I have a Cartridge style Bottom Bracket... Could you all take a look-see and make sure?

Thanks

Billy

Ps, I know its filthy.... I'm going to scrub the heck out of it this weekend.

Yeah, that looks like a cartridge. Likely needs BBT-2 or BBT-22 or the equivalent.

Don't use high-pressure water spray to clean that area - no BB is water tight.

Incidentally, I'm pretty (over) cautious around spindles/bb's like that. Flossing around the spindle/crank interface with an old t-shirt works awfully well for me ... without risking anything.

Just tread gently, though, and you'll be fine.

You can even lay the rag (your choice of color) over the area and use the toothbrush to push the rag into the 'close' areas to clean... ... ..peace
