Need some troubleshooting help please....

I posted this the other day and I didn't get any replies, so I am trying again. Thanks.

I was out for a ride yesterday and I noticed some vibrations in my pedals I had not felt before. I felt it throughout the whole ride, but only whenever I was pedalling hard. It happened on the upswing, so no pressure was being applied to the pedal with the vibration. I am new to repairing my own bike and I am learning as I go, so I am looking for some pointers. I recently replaced the chain and adjusted the rear deraillure and yesterday was the first real ride since then. I hear no grinding, no rubbing, nothing unusual. Also, this is on a Raleigh road bike I bought on Ebay two years ago, so not sure on the maintenance before I got it. Any ideas?

I would rather not bring this into the shop unless I must, not too much cash to throw around right now. I worried that if I continue to ride like this, I am causing more problems.

Am I worried for no reason?

Most likely the result of applying a new chain to a worn cassette. Did you measure your old chain?

You'll probably need to replace the cassette. No you won't damage anything by riding it (if that's the problem), but it won't shift well.

A friend of mine had that problem and was skipping cogs on the cassette. I have had no problem with that though. My chain was not too bad, but I did measure and it did need to be changed.

Am I damaging the chain if I continue to ride with a worn cassette, until I can replace it?

Toe clips and straps? Rubbing against crankarm? Happens on my fixed gear occasionally.
