Bottom bracket loose?
Hi,
I've recently noticed that the spacer on the drive side and the o-ring on the left side of my shimano bottom bracket (the common sealed cartridge type) are fairly loose (can be moved by hand). Is this normal?
I overhauled this bottom bracket about a year ago (it was creaking), cleaned & greased everything, tightened it to the torque specs, and it was all good. But I didn't check how tight/loose the spacer was just after tightening, so now I'm worried it might have loosened again. However, the lockring does say "will not bottom out on frame", so maybe the BB is all nice and tight, just not squeezing the shell hard? Any thoughts? I don't feel like taking it all apart again (and whose idea was it to put the torque spec INSIDE the shell???) just to find out that there was no problem to start with...
Thanks for any input.
