Spoke popping rim?
Anyone here know of this? I am a clydesdale on a 700 X 28 double walled rim. I've ridden 6000 miles over two years and have broke 2 spokes. Since I've moved to Abilene four months ago I'v had to replace one every month. I was told that my rim was getting weak and needed a new one. Any of you guys ever hear of this or know how to fix it? Any suggestions will be helpful!

Broken spokes can be due to several causes or combinations of problems, low tension is the most common. Loose spokes flex back and forth causing metal fatigue. This usually leads to failure in the "J" bend at the hub.
If your rim is bent or if there are small cracks near the spoke holes it should be replaced.
