Weird Noises
I have this problem with my new bike where when I'm just riding along, if I push on the shifter it makes a weird clicking noise, then almost immediately after there's a strange clanking sound coming from the drivetrain area. This is usually accompanied by the strange sensation that all of the sudden, either I can't pedal fast enough, or I'm pedaling too slow. Is this normal?
I'm also hearing weird crunchy sounds when my tires run on gravel, when I coast I'd swear a small stopwatch sound can be heard, and when I got to the drive-thru with the bike on the roof rack, it sounds like Armageddon. Is there a lube or something I can try? Did my bike shop rip me off? Do I need a torque wrench? If so, which type?

No no no... a torque wrench is all you need. TW-2.
Also, use some White Lightning. It works with drive-thrus... but be careful with parking garages. That may require Tri-flo.
