Right side disc brake

I have a nos C-Dale moto 120 triple clamp fork that I would like to use on our tandem. However they were set up for the old winzip disc brake, which mounts on the right side. I would like to use an avid brake either mechanical or hydraulic. If I go mechanical I would have to turn the calipers upside down and use something like a travel agent for the cable routing. However if I go with a hydraulic setup, can these be turned upside down and pivot the conection and still work properly?
Does anyone have any ideas on making this work?
