Ebay is a place where you can dump your trash and get premium prices for it. Never buy old stuff on Ebay. Consider this a learning experience.

www.biketoolsetc.com had them at one time. I just checked but could not find that type of BB on their site. They were sort of expensive so I could never justify ordering one to go on a frame worth less than the cost of that repair BB. I guess that’s the reason they don’t sell them anymore.

Mavic made a square taper BB that seated in the BB shell without using threads. It has chamfered sides so it was self-aligning. I ran one with a Croce'd Une (I think that was how it was spelled)Crank on and old Merckx frame I converted into a fixed gear bike. It worked fine. Might be hard to find now, though. This was more than 10 or 12 years ago and it was already old then.

but anyway
the guys at chain reaction wouldn't take it
the guys at performance are kinda weird
and the guy at go ride took it
but gave it back to me today

might give it to palo alto bike shop
its such a sick looking frame
thats probably why the dude was selling it

anyone have a report on that guy called the "bike doctor"
or does he just pay chain reactcion(redwood City) to pass out his card to every single person who steps foot in their doors .
