Grease

Hi everyone,
I recently bought my first set of clipless pedals, and was wondering, before I install them, what kind of grease to use on the threads, since the instructions say to use some. Would something like Phil Wood waterproof grease be good?

It says it's for bearings, but I figure it'll work for threads too - is that right?

I have a tube just about empty I bought back in 1983. It will work. Wipe off excess after installation.

Bikes: '96 Litespeed Catalyst, '05 Litespeed Firenze, '06 Litespeed Tuscany, '20 Surly Midnight Special, All are 3x10. It is hilly around here!

It will work on any bike application needing grease. Bearings, seatposts, bb cups, threaded components, etc.

The only thing I don't really like about this is sometimes you'll get leakage on loose ball hubs/headsets when it rains - I really hate the nasty green colour that gets on your tires.

Grease, oil, any flavor works fine for all threaded fasteners. Bearings need grease, exclusively.

Wow, what kind of rain do you get caught it?

I've used Phil Grease for years on all kinds of headsets, including several of loose ball types, and never had it wash out onto anything.

Just about everything Phil Wood puts his name on is the very best of its kind. Get the waterproof grease, the Tenacious Oil, the hand cleaner, some of his hubs, ceramic bearings, . . . .

Also have never seen/heard tell of the grease leaking out or staining green. They must have some funky rain in Toronto.
