K2 Attack fork removal

Newbie here... trying to remove the forks off my bike since REI cant seem to fix the problem of a squeek in the bearings. I have pulled tha bars off and now just have the forks left, it looks like a retaining clip is used to hold it in place but when I pry on it, it does not give so I stopped...

can anyone point me in the right direction?

edit, forgot to mention it's an Attack 1.0 mtn bike... has a Rock Shox fork on the front

Parktool.com, under repair help or on the bike map read the section on threadless headsets. Be prepared for a lot of miscellaneous parts to distribute themselves on your floor if you do it wrong.

so after briefly checking the info out, looks like I have to press out the fork in order to repack the bearings. this is going to be fun
