1) Remove tube.
2) Inflate tube
3) Listen for leaks. if you cannot hear/see/feel any, fill a bucket with water. Submerge tube in water. Look for bubbles.
4) If tube is in fact leaking, patch or replace.

For small leaks if you are on the road and have no water for the bubble test, you can pass the tube close in front of your face, near your mouth. You will feel VERY small leaks on your lips as the air escapes.

Once you find the leak. Do not forget to feel for imbeded debris in your tire that may cause a re-puncture once you have re-inflated.

I usually drop from 100psi to around 80 by the end of the week. I'm pretty sure this is normal. If you're going all the way flat then it's definitely a leak.

Yeah, two weeks for me is 120 down to 80. Pressure loss over longer time is normal.

ooooooo yay! my bike suddenly fell flat at the bike rack at school. when i got to school wheel was fine. end of school, wheels totally deflated. pumped it, 1 hr later, totally deflated. in inspecting the wheel, it turns out someone at school stabbed my tires with something long and thin.

You should always do this before going to a bucket.
