Road Disc-brake Wheelset

I'm in need of a new wheelset for my disc-brake commuter. I have 130 mm rear hub spacing, so my options are shortening an XT hub and hoping the spacing works out, selling one of my other bikes to afford the Phil Wood 130 mm rear disc hub or trying the not-so-highly recommended Chris King universal with 130 mm axle end and ISO rotor adapter and praying I can shim my rear rear caliper to handle the difference. All of these sound expensive and potentially heart-breaking. I need to go with a very heavy duty wheelset since I have a hobby of breaking spokes. On this set I was actually thinking of going 36-holes, brass nipples (I just love the sound of that) and have even contemplated having them tied and soldered.

I think the Bontrager select road disc set, while cheap, wouldn't last me all that long. Nothing else seems to. Should I just let my LBS wheelbuilder build me a set of shortened 36-hole XT's with Mavix CXP 33's? I suppose as long as they are tensioned similarly on the drive and non-drive side I won't keep decapitating spoke heads. The total bike+rider+luggage+water is around 260#.

Anybody have any thoughts on this? Thanks in advance.

Stop jumping curbs?

Mmmm.. Too easy. It's a function of mass and Wattage.

You don't have much more mass than I. Guess you need to dial it down to 400 watts. :)
