1" Threaded Fork problemsss..*hope someone could help*

Dear all'

I am currently building up a vintage marvin star, since the frame came without a fork i was very lucky to came across with a double plated fork which matches wiht the frame. I guess i wasnt so lucky cause the threaded part of the fork wasnt long enough for my headset. By anychance it is possible to re-thread the fork or just find another one?

Cheers.

Bikes: Leader LD-735TR, Mercier Kilo tt, 3Rensho pursuit(not complete)

take the fork to you LBS and have it marked where you need it cut and how much more thread you need. If it's a decent bike shop they should have the tools to cut new threads.

Bikes: Catrike 559 I own some others but they don't get ridden very much.

Is the threaded part of the fork chrome plated? If it is, the dies that an LBS is likely to have won't cut clean new threads.

One possibility, if you don't need too much, is to use headset with a lower stack height. Tange Passage headsets, for examply, have only a 30.3mm stack height.

Nope the fork wasn't fully chrome plated only half of the fork is chrome plated, and the steerer tube is bare steel i think.
