Someone who deals in British motorcar parts may have them. They were used on some of the old cars like the MG and MGB. Occasionally you will find some M5 x 0.9 mm bolts as well as taps or dies show up on Ebay. Everything in this size is difficult to find.

If you have lousy hardware stores, just go to your local bike shop. They can supply you with the proper bolts.
