Brake compatibility w/ fork.

I am having problems with fitting an existing brake on a fork upgraded on my bike, a Softride road bike that I built in 1998. I have replaced a 1” threaded. fork, stem & headset, with a gently used Alpha Q GS-10 carbon fiber threadless fork, 3TTT stem. & Fsa headset.

Everything went well till I went to install the existing ultegra front brakes. It seems the old fork has a small diameter hole in front where the threaded bolt of the brake goes into and a larger diameter hole on the backside to except the nut.

The Alpha Q GS-10 fork has a single diameter hole larger than the threaded bolt of the brake and smaller than the nut. The fork will not except the nut and there is to much play in the bolt.

I have not seen this before, is there as special connector that I have to use with a Alpha Q GS-10 carbon fiber fork? Do I need to buy a different brake setup?

Thank you in advance.
