Headbadge help
Hey folks I have a 1982 trek 614 road bike that is heading to the paint shop for a good powdercoating. My question is how do I get the headbadge off without ruining it asI would like to replace it when the paint job is done. It looks to be glued on and I'm a little worried that if I try to just pry it off i will screw it up. Any sugestions. Thanx Mark A. Longmont, Co

Get a thin piece of piano wire at your local hobbyshop and slide it under the headbadge with a sawing motion until you work it from top to bottom. If you have a junk piece of brake cable unravel one strand and that might also work. A strand of cable will be more flexible than piano wire.
