Full Metal Jacket (How I did it)
So I finally upgraded to some avid BB 7 from V brakes and I bought the Full Metal Jacket while I was at it. It took me alot of hours to figure it all out but here is the end result...
The first picture demonstrate the mess that I made doing this. I would like all to know the great task (for me anyway) I underwent to successfully complete this operation.
The second picture shows the fruits of my labor-one bike, with some bad ass lookin brakes and cables.
The third picture shows the front brake witht the heat senstive shrink wrap as well as the full metal stainless steel housing.
The fourth picture demonstrates what is better seen in the fifth picture as the rear assembly.
The sixth picture shows a little bit of jimmy riggin. I removed these brackets from my old housing, bore them out with my dremel (to make them wide enouph for the avid full metal jacket), and placed them on the new housing in order to tuck it all nicely away.
The seventh picture shows the peculiar set up of the avid full metal jacket. There is a ring bracket glued to the fork in oder to guide the rigid stainless steel jacket up down when the shock is engaged.
The eighth Picture is one that I am posting in order to ask a question. I am a little quirked about all the stacks I had to use in order to position the brake up high enouph to function properly.. What do you guys all think?
Alright, well any comments or anything would be interesting and or helpfull. Thank you

I think you used the front caliper bracket on the rear brake. Check to see if the unused bracket is any taller.
Also, trim you cables a little more and bend the way clear of the rotor. You don't need or want more than about 1/4" of cable sticking out past the pinch bolt.

wow thanks
Hey thank you very much for your reply.
You were right, I wasnt using the rear bracket I should of been. Anyway, after reading your post I replaced the bracket but I still need about the same amount of spacers to lift the brake up high enouph. I know this is the right bracket because it says R with an arrow pertaining to the direction of the wheel.
Its pretty strange though.... Using 4 spacers cant be right. I think ill take it in to my local bike shop and see if they have any suggestions.
