Powertap hub maintenance

hey guys, i've never had to have a hub overhauled, but my pt hub has 8k+ and is starting to feel/sound crappy. Two questions:

What all needs to be done to overhaul a hub? Just repacking, new battery?

Should I have my lbs do it or send it in to Saris?

It's a simple overhaul with a sealed bearing on the non-drive side and standard ball bearings on the drive side, any lbs should be able to take care of it if you're not into overhauling hubs. Also the battery replacement is very easy as well, so if you are not having any glitches with the system, there is no need to send it in to Saris.
