Madone Mast Seat Post

Does anyone know if trek offers it's mast seat post on the Madone with a "set back" as opposed to just straight up? My seat is push all the way back and I still need a little more room. I know I can get a larger stem but wondered about the seat post...

Do you mean you are too cramped? If so this looks like it is more of a fit issue. You typically don't move the seat to gain more room. The seat is fixed so your knee is somewhere over the middle of the pedal spindle. Of course this is open to arguement. I would have the LBS that sold you the bike redo your fit. What length of stem do you have on there now?

Get the seat set up so that you are comfortable where it is versus the pedals. If you need a more setback seatpost to do that, then that is a good reason to get one.

However, if you want more length versus the handlebars, you don't want to replace the seatpost, you want to replace the stem.

+1 to the replies above. You fit your saddle position to the pedals/frame first, then decide on stem length. Setback may not (or may) be the answer, but you don't know yet.

Trek has 6 different seat masts. 2 lengths in each of the seatbacks of 20mm, 5mm and a tribike 10mm set forward. MSRP is about 120 bucks

Bikes: Too many to count

Trek doesn't make a mast-type seat post. A mast clamps to the seat tube. A standard seat post, no matter how aero is is shaped, inserts into the seat post.

Go look at the trek Madone 5.1 or higher and they have a seat mast.

Well the people that did the webpage for Trek incorrectly used the term "seat mast" and it is spreading to the bike shops. A true seat mast clamps onto the seat tube. A seat post inserts into the seat tube. Trek has a seat post, not a seat mast.

For example, the Scott Addict frame accepts a seat mast.

Well bellweatherman below are pics of the Trek Madones seat mast. If you still think that trek doesnt have a seatmast system you might want to go look at an 08' Madone 5.1 or higher

Bikes: Numerous bicycles.

technically it's referred in these parts as a cap that slides down over the mast.

It is jib, not jig. And since jibs are typically used on sloop rigged boats, probably not gonna find a poop deck.

Any way, the jib will be found on the forestay.

The poop deck will be found on the stern of an aft cabin equipped vessel.

Hope this helps.
