The best $40 I ever spent
I was 1 block into my daily commute when an impatient driver ran a stop sign and t-boned my bike. My bike went flying one way and I onto the hood of the SUV. He slammed on his brakes and I fell off the front of the car and landed flat on my back and smashed my head against the pavement. I escaped with a bruised leg and a sore neck (my trusty '84 Nishiki fared much worse 
). It could have been much, much worse had I not been wearing my brain bucket. If you don't have a helmet, GET ONE!! If you have one, WEAR IT!!

I drove by a simlar accident involving a pedestrian just minutes after it happened. Grandma was on the ground shaking, with blood pouring out of her ear. The car owner was crying and crying, and crying. bk
