shifter bosses

I purchased an old Japanese chromoly road frame. Rather than having the shifter bosses on both sides of the downtube, it has one boss on the inside of the down tube. It has downtube shifters, I would like to run barends. Is their any solution other than having bosses brazed on?

Color me confused. What do the bosses have to do with barend shifters?

Bikes: Diamondback Clarity II frame homebuilt.

That's where he's going to bolt the cable stops.

Pardon the noobs. 'Coz if the precised questions are asked, the answer would be obvious! (Engineering 101).

shifters

Cable stops, you got to have cable stops! I want to run barends not downtube shifters. I think I got it figured out.

I thought everybody knew about cable stops and that you had to install them them somewhere.
