Rust removal?
I got a gear cassette that got a nice amount of rust on it.
Is there a way to clean it up?

If it is much more than superficial, you can probably replace it instead (look to the various on line bike shops for cassettes (or freewheels).

Bleach will remove rust. Buy liquid pool chlorine -- it is stronger and the same chemical. I have used it to remove rust from painted surfaces. Don't know how it would work on bare steel.
