Campy UT Crank

I just installed a new Campy UT crank and new wipperman chain. I replaced the ceramic BB and FSA crank I had.

The new crank is noticeably harder to turn. Also I now get chain rub when I have the small ring, small cog combo (I know, bad combo, but it didn't happen before). It appears to be rubbing on the pins of the crank (Would it be the Q-factor change?). Has anyone run across this and know of a fix.

Thanks

I actually contacted Campy in Italy about the small/small rub. They said it can't be avoided. I was using a Wippermann (10 speed Campy compatible - before they went to their new line). Switching to a Campy ultra narrow made it better - but there is still some rubbing. I also installed my own Record UT crankset (and have taken it apart once to grease the bearings). Mine is not noticeably harder to spin (I'm assuming you mean with the chain off) than the FSA SLK that it replaced. Not sure if you have a problem or not.

edit - mine did get "smoother" shortly after installation

Thank You both for your replies. I guess I'll need to learn to shift correctly.
BTW- I'm waiting for an email from a campy distributor's tech. I'll post if it's anything interesting.

I didn't see this chain rub thing in any review prior to purchase. Caveat emptor!

Had a similar problem with my FSA SLK in small-small (but with a slightly wider chain).

Not any more. Took the new crank on its first ride. Rode 81 miles and I must say, buttery smooth shifting.
