Crankset question
I had a quick question about changing cransets. I have a cheap triple crankset on my bike right now and was thinking about upgrading it to put on something a little more sturdy. If i am running an 8spd does it matter if the crankset is a 9 or 10spd?
Thanks in advance

Bikes: like 15. my favorite a 1951 schwinn spitfire cruiser. also have a 1959 amf roadmaster, 1962 jch deluxe cruiser among others.
not likely. changing the front crankset (chainrings and what not), as long as it is compatable to the bike and bb, it doesn't really matter if you have 5,6,7,8,9, or 10 rear cogs/gears. just make sure the new cranksett fits the bike proporly and your front deraillur travel can take the extra range if you do add more gears on the rear, as more rear gears will increase the angle the chain must travel to hit all rear gears.
