Spoke length: Mavic Reflex tubular on Record hub

A spoke just snapped on my wheel. The spare spokes I have for an Open Pro clincher rim on a Centaur hub measure 295 mm, but they are too short for my Reflex-Record wheel: the spoke enters the nipple but the thread does not gain purchase.

I'm guessing that up to 15 years or so ago these box-like tubular rims like Mavic Reflexes laced to Record hubs were fairly standard gear. But unless I'm not understanding the concept correctly (not in the least unlikely), I can't seem to find the spokes I need for this wheel. I looked on the Branford site, but the longest they have are 295 mm.

What gives?

That combination could take up to a 298mm spoke assuming its a 36 hole 3 cross. An open pro clincher rim could take a spoke as short as 291.

I knew I'd left something out. It's a 32-hole hub-rim, and the spokes cross two spokes ("2-cross"?).

Mavic Reflex tubulars with Campy hubs, 32hole and 2X should be a 292 spoke. 2X is very odd for a rear wheel.

295's should be too long, not too short.

It's probably 3x. Look at the wheel again, do the spokes just barely pass over another spoke right at the base of the hub and two clearly later? Then 3x.

Took my wheel to a great shop that's open on Sundays, and sure enough, it's a 3x pattern, not 2x. And it turns out that 298 mm spokes are indeed what are required for Record-Reflex wheels using a 3x pattern.

I'm just learning as I go, here. I bought a spoke wrench and, after putting in the new spoke, actually managed to true my wheel. Well chuffed about that, I am!

Thanks for the responses!
