Sram 850/870/890

I am looking at upgrading to an SRAM chain on my Schwinn circuit. It came with a KMC Z-72. I have seen various models out there PC850, PC870, and PC890 but have not been able to find anywhere that lists what the differences are between them. Can anyone shed some light on the differences? SRAM lists them as all being 8 speed chains.

The higher the part number, the lighter the chain. The PC890 has hollow pins. Best value is the PC870.

I am trying to decide between the 870 and 890: I have never had hollow pins and I am curious how much they hurt the life/durability of the chain.

I had no idea they made a hollow pin 8-speed chain. I have one on my 10-speed and the thing works flawlessly.

I ended up going with a PC890. I found a place that had them $4.00 cheaper than the PC870. Otherwise it would have been an 870. It'll be the best component on my bike. lol
