For hubs specifically, which is better, sealed cartridge or ball-and-cup bearings? Coming from BMX has taught me that sealed is better, but roadies seem to prefer the old style. I'm thinking that sealed are stronger and less maintenence, but ball-and-cups roll smoother. What do you prefer?

Either if made properly.
