I'm assuming you're talking about a road bike with 700c or 27" wheels. If you're climbing really steep hills, it'll give you a super low gear for climbing. If you ride mostly on flat terrain, it'll have you spinning like crazy to go slow.

Bikes: One brand-less build-up, and a Connondale Synapse Carbon Ultegra Disc. A nicer bike than I need, but it was a good deal, so... ;-)

Are we talking a fixie here? Your first downhill would be...interesting...

Will it screw you up? Depends on what you want the bike to do. On a road bike or MTB, you'll be spinning pretty hard to get above 12 MPH.

Seems lower than most bmx ratios, but it could get you out of the box quick.

There is a bmx forum where they may give you more targetted insight.

Bikes: Catrike 559 I own some others but they don't get ridden very much.

I doubt you'd like it. It's way too low for anything but climbing steep hills.
