Tektro fork hanger on rear brake?
I have a bike that has cantilever brakes and shimano brifter drop levers. The braking isn't great and in trying to improve it I am thinking of using a Tektro fork cable hanger on the rear wheel to improve the cable routing. At the moment the cable hanger is on the seatpost and the cable goes along the underneath of the top bar and then has to curve up and the down to the hanger that is actually above the cable. This puts two quite shap curves in the cable and I think that better routing will help.
The hanger I am thinking of using is the tektro 1272af on this page
https://www.tektro.com/02products/accessories.php
I was thinking of fixing it to the bridge between the seat stays which will give a nice smooth curve to the cable. Is there any problem with doing this? Wil it put too much force on the bridge? I see that they list a rear version but there is just one picture and I can't find any info on the net of what the difference between them is.
thanks

I haven't seen them, but my assumption is that the one for the fork has a flat face and longer bolt, while the one for the rear has a concave face + washer and has a shorter bolt.
the one for the fork is unlikely to have threads all the way down to where it would be usable on a rear eyelet.

Before embarking on this lengthy quest, have you done all the obvious things to improve braking first?
1. koolstop salmon pads
2. Ensure proper toe-in
3. Correct yoke length
